The recent pandemic certainly introduced a lot of uncertainty to our lives both socially and economically. It seems like so long ago that we were last able to go to restaurants, schools, work, and places of worship.

Like everyone else, we at Eleveo experienced the same impacts regardless of whether our employees worked in our Prague, Kosice, Nashville, or remote offices. Regardless of where we lived or worked we heeded stay at home orders and learned how to live our lives differently while trying to maintain some sense of normalcy. The good news is that we have made it this far and our social and economic systems are starting to reopen and return to a new normal. While this is great news, we come upon a new set of challenges in “returning to the office”.

For many businesses work didn’t stop, it simply continued in a modified way. We now have to figure out how to return to the office and ensure that our employees and colleagues are as safe as possible. In that vein, there are restrictions and affordances being introduced to both limit the number of people in the office at the same time and provide a means for those at risk or with unique family situations to continue working remotely.

The new normal adds a new twist to the industry WFM mantra of ensuring that the right people are in the right seats at the right time. Not only do we have to make sure we are staffed properly, but we also have to ensure that our office capacity limits are not exceeded. In addition, it is important to be able to stagger start times and balance office and remote rotations. On top of that, supervisors need to know who is in the office and who is remote, so they don’t go walking to a cubicle expecting the employee to be there when they are scheduled to work remotely.

Enter a simple solution from the Eleveo WFM product. Our vision is to always provide the easiest and most effective solution to your scheduling problems. Customers can now very quickly define office capacity, which is enforced during schedule creation and designate scheduled employees as “remote” or “office”. By doing so management can ensure proper health precautions are followed, while also allowing everyone to know who is supposed to be where at what point in time.

Remote or In-Office Toggle

At first, we added some features to distinguish remote from on-site employees within the software, added a max count for the site, and then created schedules for our own staff to help with social distancing rules, & business hours vs after-hours coverage. It’s not often you get to “eat your own dog food” at this level but the exercise has been useful to product and provided value to our internal teams

We can say this for certain. Our WFM software works, and not just for our customers. It saves time and helps you with coverage and is faster to set up, distribute, and modify than a spreadsheet.
